Today’s Weekly Calendar Fun Fact:
In North Carolina, it is illegal to use elephants to plow cotton fields. In Nebraska, a mother can not give her daughter a perm without a state license. In Hawaii, it is against the law to place coins in your ear.
Whether a law is so old it simply becomes lost in the books or legislators are too busy with current issues to repeal anything out of date and invalid, there are many states that still have wacky laws active. While you can understand where a law may have stemmed from, certainly a few of these might no longer be of concern. Be sure to check out some of these other doozies!
Since we’re located in Illinois, here is a crazy law still on the books:
A woman can not be drunk if she is attending culinary school.
